Peek at My Week: Read Across America comes EARLY

I totally got my plans done earlier and forgot to post. Hehehe… well. They are revamped and I think I might keep them this way. This week will be HECTIC for us. We are having Read Across America this week because next week we will be out on Monday and Tuesday for Mardi Gras! YAY! My first Mardi Gras. I am SUPER excited. I will be in New Orleans this weekend, SO. I'm pumped.

Onto the week…

Here's our little weekly schedule:
Monday: Fox in Socks {Crazy socks}
Tuesday: The Cat in the Hat {Wear a Hat}
Wednesday: Wacky Wednesday {Wear clothes backwards and inside out}
Thursday: There's a Wocket in my Pocket {bring something in your pocket}
Friday: Bring your favorite book and READ! {mine will be allowed to bring their favorite stuffed animal as well}

We are also having a Mardi Gras parade Friday afternoon. That should definitely be picture worthy!

I have no pictures of my own, but I found a TON of ideas on Pinterest that I plan on doing this week. Here are a couple...

You should follow me on Pinterest.

Here are my plans. I bought some GREAT packs this week. One of which is Amy's Silly Cat Mixed Up Sight Words. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE! I LOVE it. Of course, I always use The Printable Princess' morning work.

I recently bought the Guided Reading Made Easy for Kinders. I have the 1st grade one as well. The books are the best part and totally worth it. So much was put into this pack. Love it. I started it last week and my kids were SO into everything we were doing. It helps everything flow that the story has the same things as the comprehension pages and word cards and a "fun" page. The warm up games are awesome as well.

AND YES - my plans totally got saved with 2013. I refuse to change it. =) Seems as if I'm living in the past.

On another more, if you haven't been to the FB Free-For-All it ends tomorrow at 7:00. I'm offering up part of my March Lit and Math Centers. Cover photo will take you to the Free-For-All.

It's under the FB Free-for-All tab. Like it and download away. There are SO many goodies offered.

Here are a few pages from the full pack! Link to product is the cover page.

I'll be back tomorrow with a GIVEAWAY post.

Meet the Teacher Monday Linky

Sooo it's 10:09 pm as I start typing this post. I've been getting ready for my first FB linky this weekend and just went through a FB hop... and I am wide awake.

I've been meaning for weeks to link up with Trina who I follow on Instagram... and she is HILARIOUS. She hosts a weekly Meet the Teacher and YAY I'm finally joining.

This post was MADE for me this week. I am the total what if-er and the questions this week are all what if's. Alright here we go...

1. If you could stop a bad habit that you have, what habit would you stop?
It would absolutely be biting my nails. When I'm working on something and using a ton of thought, I bite them. When I'm nervous, I bite them. Writer's block. YUP. They get chewed on.

2. If you woke up suddenly because your house was on fire (God forbid), what three things would you grab?
1. My dog
2. My phone
3. My laptop

3. We live is a dystopian society, and the music police is in charge of all things music. If you were forced listen to one song for the rest of your life, what song would it be? You can only pick one.
I'm one of those weird people that can listen to the same song on repeat for DAYS and not tire of it... so this is hard. Hmmmm, I'd say Fantasia's I Believe. Love that song.

4. If you saw someone with their dress tucked into their SPANX, would you tell them?
Uhhh yes! I've never worn a spanx, but if that were me I'd hope someone would do the same. Embarassing!

5. If you were given a time machine and could go back in time to give your younger self a message, what would that message be?
Keep the faith. There is nothing I can't handle.

6. If your were able to have one supernatural power, what power would it be?
Funny... I change my name at school because I get SO tired of hearing Miss Brown and today my kids change my name to Miss Invisible. I went with it, but I would LOVE to be invisible and have the ability to switch back and forth.

7. If you could have 25 hours a day (while everyone else still has 24), what would you do with the extra hour?
I'd probably take a nap LOL.

8. If you could live in one time period, what time period would you choose?
I'm happy with the time period right now. It would be cool to be able to see what the future will develop into however. Like 2080. Will there still be cars? How will schools change? So many questions.

9.  If you could live anywhere in the world (cost is not a factor), where would you live?
Definitely the SOUTH or somewhere WARM. I hate cold weather. I would love to be somewhere with nice pretty beaches. Warm weather. Few chances of rain. That would be LIFE!

10. If you could have a grand party, and invite any 3 people in the world (dead or live, real or fictional), who would you invite?
1. The President (who wouldn't want to say they've met a president?)
2. Usher
3. Backstreet Boys (yes, I'm totally a groupie to singers) hehehe

Now head over and link up so I can read all about YOU!

Valentine's Day

Gearing up for Valentine's Day is always SO exciting. I thought it would be fun to have a Valentine FAVORITES post. Most of the pictures are linked to the source. A picture or two is mine and isn't linked..

Here are a few things that I found beforehand across blogs and pinterest. I did a few of these today.

Who Do You Love?
I did my name first and was told that I just had to put that I love them simply because I tell them everyday. Oooookay. I could NOT argue with that.

Valentine's Day Tree Map

How to Make a Heart Writing
This was seriously SO much fun and hilarious. My kids did a really good job with it. I forgot to take a full picture of ours.

Candy Conversation Estimate

Candy Hearts Color Sorting
Love to do this with the graph afterwards. The entire time all I heard was, "Can we eat them now? Can we?"

Candy Conversation Hearts Letter Graphing
I've never done this and didn't get to it this year, but it's a freebie and it's linked.

How Many Hearts Tall Are You?

And my totally new favorite idea for Valentine's. My kiddos got these rings, bubbles and two Valentine's Day pencils today - oh - and a party courtesy of Miss Brown. You're welcome sweetie pies.

These cam from Rachelle Smith - What the Teacher Wants. FAB idea. When I saw her post these weeks ago, I went out to find some goodies. So much better than giving out candy.

We snacked and snacked and SNACKED. We made Love Bug Valentine hats with antennas and I hope they totally enjoyed their first "school" Valentine's Day. Enjoy your Valentine's.
