I’m linking up with Lucky to Be in First with this WONDERFUL idea. I think this is a great linky because sometimes it’s great to let a little of yourself be known by sharing personal things. I am so excited to see what everyone says.
First and FOREMOST, I am so very thankful that I know Jesus Christ. I am so far from perfect and the fact that He allows us to make up for our mistakes and wrong doings and be forgiven is one of those never-ending thank you. I might not thank Him as much as I should, but there is nothing in my life that would have been remotely possible without Him. 😉
I am thankful for my sense of humor. Life gets so HARD sometimes and I’ve been given this wonderful gift of humor to take everything with a smile. As teachers, many people cannot imagine the daily struggles that we endure. The wonderings of how we’re going to reach a child, writing up a reply to an aggressively rude parent, leaving your personal issues at the door and slapping a SMILE on your face for your sweet babies, seeing children go home to “empty homes”, and such an ENDLESS list. Life can be so hard, but I think we all have this sense of humor to let the small things go. That’s what I’m thankful for – being able to drop the worries, drop all the extreme pressures of school and simply not sweating the small things and being HAPPY.
I am very thankful for my family and friends. My friends keep me SANE after my family drive me insane. Seriously. My family is the BEST. They are always there for me when I need them. Personal friends. Work friends. New friends. Old friends. Online friends. I’m very shy in person and it’s so relieving to have friends that I can just be myself with. I have so many different types of friends and I love all of them for different reasons.
My JOB. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE what I do. Seriously I cannot say it enough. This year, I am almost back to the “old” me. My first 3 years of teaching I learned the type of teacher that I wanted to be. The next two years I ended up in a place that changed my entire attitude towards teaching. I began to hate coming to work. I knew I needed a change and I think I found the perfect place for me. I love getting up in the mornings. I love seeing my kiddos. I just love what I do. I’m pretty sure most of you can relate (I hope ALL of you can), but there aren’t many professions, careers, jobs or whatever you want to call it where the employees can say they truly love what they do. With the job, I get so much FREE PD from all these wonderful other teachers around the world.
