This school year has started off as a whirlwind! School officially started on the 20th, but I get my class tomorrow. I found out um, two days ago that I will be teaching FIRSTIES this year! I am sooo happy that it is NOT third grade. Blessed either way, but I am ecstatic about first. I can still do kinder-ish things, but we can do so much more. I love writing and journals so now from the beginning we are going to be soooo into writing {I hope}.

And in other news, I found out the Friday before that I was moving rooms - I kind of got finished, but no where I would like to have been at the end. There was so much to do in five days. I do not see how people get it done like that. I'm used to a whole summer to simmer and think. I forgot to take pictures, BUT I did send my friend a pic from my phone of my pom poms that I made. I'll take pictures tomorrow after school because I am sooooooo excited. My room is all pinterest and blogger inspired. This is my first time EVER EVER EVER putting up bulletin board paper in my room. I'm such a fabric girl...I just didn't have the time nor money to shop for fabric to go with my polka dot/pink/lime/purple/blue theme lol and add a little black to that.

I LOVE THEM! I have a polka dot one at home that I totally forgot about. I might add it before the blue one.

School is back!!!

School starts tomorrow for me and I have no babies!! My principal told me on Friday that I could move rooms so that's what I'll be doing this week. And I'll find out tomorrow if I stay in K or have to go to third. *praying for K*

Anyhoooo - just wanted to wish anyone who starts tomorrow a fantastic, smooth, and calming first day!!! I have TONS to get done in five days. I'm so excited about my new room. It has two closets like the one I had in my old room, a huge HUGE storage closet thing in the back of the room, a restroom, and a window!!! Don't you hate windowless rooms? I felt so closed in at times. I can't wait until I'm all finished. SUCH a draining summer, but in the end I am sooooo grateful to be back at my school this year thanks to God!!! Have a good week everyone.

School is near...

I'm laying in the bed (should be asleep) and I realize that I have meetings tomorrow - and I realize that it's MONDAY! I have not taken the FIRST picture, but I made SOOO many things this week. *runs to photograph with my phone*

Some things I made with thoughts that I was moving to 3rd...whaddya know? I am still unsure of my grade, but crafting goes on.

Please excuse the bad pics - took them all with my phone at night!! My badly lit scrapbook room has turned in the PHOTO room for this post hehehe...

#1 - Hall Pass

How cute are the hall pass signs that have taken over? I used my handy dandy Silhouette to make my circles and letters. I placed them on some left over foam board from my first day frame. I hated what it looked like and so I spray painted it...just a little. I peeled the vinyl off and WA-LA. I love it! I just need to add passes. It's actually a very pretty pink but look peachy.

#2 - No Name

I love this too. I made it the same way as above, but used green spray paint. I had some silver spray painted clothespins lying around and glued three of those on. Cute. And I just added duck tape.

#3 - Sharpened/Unsharp

I saw this ooooh so cute set of labels for the pencils and decided to use them. They are from the fabulous 3rd Grade's a Hoot and use SUPER cute clipart from MelonHeadz who I LOVE. I got the pots earlier in the summer during a sale at Michael's and used a variety of coupons too! Aren't they GORGEOUS?! They will go perfectly with my polka dot/pink/green/purple/lt blue theme I going to attempt in some fashion.

Also planning a candy pot/sucker pot when school is a little closer.

#4 - Vinyl with my Silhouette Cameo

#5 - Clipboards

Dollar Tree find on the far right and the left and middle is them covered with duck tape. I will be covering all of them soon...

I did a LOAD of printing, laminating, and cutting...and these are all either things I made or things I got from blogs. This is the 'I may not use' section.

I couldn't find any with polka dots that were in my colors, so I used some scrapbook paper polka dots and just recolored to match. I LOVE THEM!

Daily 5 Signs:

I made these, but used the wording that I saw on a freebie. I can't remember where though.

Plan on using these this year! A freebie I found!

I made these too! I just need to add ribbon and they will be all done. Not sure if I want to use the safe, but we do practice the 3 R's at my school.

Painting a CHAIR!!!

I spray painted my FEET green and blue with all the spray paint I've been doing. I didn't think to not wear flip flops. :-/ I haven't finished either, but they will be LONG craft ideas before I actually finish. They were both thrift store chairs. I paid $8 for the one I painted green and actually got the blue one for free at a yard sale. It's been in my garage for over a year! It was that very light wood color and very beaten up, but the paint has done WONDERS!

Be sure to head over to 4th Grade Frolics to see the other great creations!

Enjoy your MONDAY! One week until school for me!!!

Tutorial... and Monday Made It

I'll start with my week's crafts. I am much happier about my final results than I was last week.
1. Canvases:  I redid those canvases that I painted. I spray painted over them and then added some paint. I plan on making a chevron canvas just to see if I can do it... but I don't have time right now. Here they are in a redone form. This time I used my silhouette as my stencil and just traced it with a paint pen. I like them actually.

2. Crayon Art Canvas: I have been wanting to make one of these and I finally did. I also used letters cut from my Silhouette as my guide.

3. 1st Day Frame: This has also been huge on Pinterest so I decided to do one. Since I am not certain on my grade this year, I chose not to put a grade on there.

4. Fanned Flower Signs: Finally my Table decor. Well ceiling decor. Let me start off my saying PLEASE excuse the mess. I am a messy scrapper which also makes me a messy teacher crafter. Judge not the mess lol.

If you've ever wondered how to make these, it's really simple and takes NO time. I made a few different sizes and colors less than two hours. This includes finding a turtle in my waterless pool and going to get my dog who thinks she is a pit bull... and the dog entertains her next door. Geez. Paris barks and kicks her feet -  and that dog barks like CRAZY!

ALRIGHT! First, thing find the paper that you want. It would be best to get paper that is patterened on both sides. You can always do a solid color as well. Unfortunately, when I bought this polka dot paper I didn't realize that I would be making flower fans.

Pick your paper. You need at least two sheets of paper to make a large fan. Simply fold accordion style. I use my Martha Stewart scoring board. I chose to try out three different things. I scored in 1", 1/2" and 2" just to see. I like the 1" the best, but it's up to you. I did the 1/2" on on 12x12 paper that I cut in half to make smaller fans.

Alright. If you do not have a scoring board, just make sure that you fold evenly. I used 12x12 scrapbook paper and scored every inch. This is also just the way that I make mine. I have made them different ways, but the way I chose to do it this time.

After scoring, just fold on the scores. I go ahead and try to fold all of mine so it's easier to just glue them together. I have glued two pieces to make a fan and three. It depends on your preference.

After you have the folds, fold that entire piece in half. It makes a circle at the bottom, but I just pinch it to close it up. Make sure to run your hand down the entire thing to secure creases.

Next, I take another one and just attach it. I used my scrapbooking tape glider, but I'm sure any other adhesive would work just fine. I added the glue to the folder part and pressed the other piece of paper to it.

It will look like that below.

I flip one fold back and run my tape glider down it. Then I just fold that side of the fan in half like I previously did to meet the two sides up.

It may look like this in the center, but it's fine. Print off your sign for the middle of it and attach. I also added ribbon to hang it. WA-LA. I hope that wasn't too difficult to understand...

I want to say for that purple one, I used three sheets of paper - but I can't remember. I know for sure that PINK is only two sheets. I LOVE IT!

A grade change in my future?!

Beware: This is a total rant. I meant to add some freebie things earlier in the week, but I have been soooo busy. And to add on to being busy on Friday while I was at school helping a co-worker - I found out that I may be in THIRD GRADE. Clearly I'm going bananas in my head. Woo-sa. I have not been able to stop thinking about it since. My principal told me that she isn't sure it will be third, but it probably will be. I'm so happy to have a job, but third SCARES ME.

I did my student teaching in third, but that is not like the real thing. School starts in TWO weeks and I do not have the first thing ready. I love cutesy and centers and crafts and the ABC song and opening ketchup packets and unbuttoning pants and hugging little bodies and all of the things that a third grader would laugh at me for doing... I'm not so scared of leaving kinder because I know I would love first grade, but I don't know the first thing about big kids. Do they still do centers? Math centers? Read alouds on the carpet? Lol...I love my carpet time. I am stressing out probably over nothing...ugh. I started looking at some 3rd grade blogs, but I don't think I have enough time to comprehend what I need to make, do, or plan for...

I'm going to go be crafty to relieve my stress. I've prayed about it so I'm sure this year will be just as great as my last four...
